DVCT recommends using the following high-level disinfectant with ATMOS Scopes:

Revital-Ox™ RESERT® High Level Disinfectant is a reusable high-level disinfectant for processing semi-critical medical devices for which alternative methods of terminal processing are not suitable or available. It is a ready-to-use, fast, safe alternative to commonly used aldehyde [gluteraldehyde and ortho-phthalaldehyde (OPA)] solutions. Revital-Ox™ RESERT® High Level Disinfectant is an oxidative chemistry, using 2% Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP), eliminating staff and patient exposure hazards associated with aldehyde-based HLD solutions.

Revital-Ox Resert High-Level Disinfectant should be stored in its original sealed container at controlled room temperature 15 - 30°C (59 - 86°F). Do not store in food processing areas. Store away from chemicals, direct light, heat, or open flame in a dry, well-ventilated area. Do not mix with other cleaning or disinfecting products.

Ø  Product in the original container can be stored for up to 90 days.

Ø  The product is reusable for up to 21 days after being dispensed from the original container.

Ø  Quick 8-minute contact time at 20°C / 68°F.

Instructions for Quick Use:

1.     Pour disinfectant into a secondary container.

2.     Check that the disinfectant (Must use Revital-Ox® RESERT® R60 Solution Test Strip) meets minimum concentration requirements.

3.     Fully immerse the scope in the disinfectant.

4.     Set a timer for 8 minutes.

5.     Remove the scope from disinfectant and fully immerse it in a container filled with potable water.

6.     Rinse thoroughly and then dry.

7.     The scope can then be immediately re-used or stored in a manner to minimize contamination.

8.     Always refer to your manufacturer's IFU and nasoendoscopy manual for further direction.
